Human
resource management must be a dynamic function
within any organisation. It must influence and
respond to an ever changing set of challenges.
We are able to draw on our experience of working
with a wide range of organisations to provide
you with a fresh, informed and impartial perspective.
Our consultants apply a broad base of expertise
to the challenge of aligning human resources policy
and practice with organisational strategy. The
ultimate aim is to develop successful organisations.
We offer the following consultancy services:
We
have illustrated these services below with brief

| Analysis
of Strategic and Policy Issues |

Gary
Hoyte Consulting completed research, incorporating
an online survey, for NHS organisations across
three counties on human resources staff recruitment
and retention issues.
We worked with a voluntary organisation to review
its reward systems in the face of labour market
challenges, to assimilate the success of past
mergers and strengthen its position to manage
further growth efficiently and equitably.
We created a learning strategy for an NHS Trust
that embraced lifelong learning and continuous
professional development, marking a shift from
traditional workplace training. Our report identified
key concepts to address operational and strategic
demands and a model for monitoring and measuring
implementation.
We have undertaken studies to assess the HR implications
for organisations of present and proposed arrangements
for staff working at home.

Gary
Hoyte provided project support to an international
pharmaceutical company implementing a new management
structure and operating model.
We
supported a specialist private residential care
provider though a programme of major organisational
change. Our consultants provided the HR contribution
to the planning and implementation of a TUPE transfer,
a closure, service and head office relocations,
redesigning roles and structures, developing a
new recruitment strategy, staff consultation processes,
HR systems procurement and a rolling programme
of health and safety management reviews.
Gary Hoyte Consulting provided project planning
and advice to an NHS Trust through the process
to acquire Improving Working Lives accreditation,
including the development of a childcare strategy.
Four registered children's homes were transfering
from a local authority service to a registered
social landlord and child support charity. Gary
Hoyte Consulting provided project management including
due diligence, full policy review and human resources
support for a TUPE transfer of staff.
We spent six months working with chief executives,
HR directors and trade union representatives in
five primary care trusts and a shared services
organisation to review and redesign staff negotiating
and consultation mechanisms.

for Organisations |

A number of small private companies have used Gary
Hoyte Consulting to create their first formal human
resources systems, policies and procedures and health
and safety management review and action plan.
A national charity commissioned us to analyse and
redefine their executive director roles to emphasise
corporate management, external relations and strategic
management accountabilities.
We developed recommendations to support a major
strategic shift in service provision and to increase
staffing flexibility for a small not-for-profit
organisation providing nursery education to children
with cerebral palsy. |

Building
Internal Human Resource Management Capability
|
 |
|
Gary
Hoyte Consulting has produced reviews of the recruitment
and specialist medical personnel functions within
an NHS Trust to ensure the provision of high quality,
responsive strategic and operational services
to Clinical Directorates.
We
developed a corporate performance management system
based on a balanced scorecard approach for an
NHS employers' consortium.
National charities have sought our advice to redesign
head office structures and implement the resulting
departmental change.
A university human resource team was looking to
refocus on customer requirements and to build
on its contribution to the corporate agenda. We
provided support to the team through this transition
and devised performance planning and measurement
systems to help them monitor their own effectiveness.
